In the activity “Exploring the Explorers: Samuel de Champlain”, students compare a public monument to Samuel de Champlain with the entry about Champlain in the Dictionary of Canadian Biography. A table and answer key are supplied. The students then redesign the monument in accordance with their understanding of Champlain’s role in Canada’s history. The resource also suggests other activities for different subjects.
